DESCRIPTION:DISTRICT NO: 308CLUB NAME : Innerwheel Club ShimlaPROJECT DATE: 17th July 2025 \n\n\n\nPROJECT DESCRIPTION : \n\n\n\nIn an earnest attempt to lend a green touch to the Shimla environment and sensitize the people about their role in conserving it Inner Wheel Club Shimla organized a tree plantation ceremony on 17th July at park opposite rotary town hall. The celebration was an ideal opportunity to instill the value of social responsibility in the people towards safeguarding trees and forests. The focus of the celebration was towards forming a personal connect between the human and trees through a process of experience\, reflection and creation\, carried out through various activities. The members also gave little performance dance on the song greenery (haryali). \n\n\n\nPresident Mrs. Nirupma Chaudhary\, Secretary Mrs. Vandana Sood\, Vice president Mrs. Sonia Arora\, ISO Mrs. Navneet Kaur Virdi\, Editor Dr. Kusha Pandit Chawla\, executive membersMrs. Meera Sood Mrs. Meenakshi Sood\, and Mrs. Ashmita Shukla along with Innerwheel members mrs. Shubhi Khanna and Navnita Goel participated in tree plantation. Total 100 numbers of samplings (Hydrangeas\, odomos\, spider\, belpatra) planted on this occasion. \n\n\n\nTree plantation session came up to be a great success. The event helped to bring awareness about the green cover around us. It also helped in strengthening the bond between plants and humans. Along with the induction of her office bearers Secretary Mrs. Vandana Sood\, Vice President Mrs. Sonia Aroa\, Treasurer Mrs. Sunita Jain\, ISO Mrs. Navneet Kaur Virdi\, Editor Dr. Kusha Pandit Chawla\, Joint Secretary Mrs. Meenakshi Kuthiala and executive team: Mrs. Meera Sood\, Mrs. Meenakshi Mahashe\, Mrs. Meenakshi Sood\, Mrs. Ruchira Tangri and Mrs. Ashmita Shukla.The President along with her Golden Bond Team 2025 -2026 welcomed PIIWBD Mrs. Renu Baljeesji\, PDC Mrs. Bhuvan Ranaji and PDC Mrs. Neelam Vijji who are the pillars and gems of our Inner wheel Shimla Club was also present for the ceremony and blessed the incoming team. Inner wheel has collaborated with Former Principal IGMC Dr. Chaudhary and Assistant Eye Specialist from Grewal Eye Institute\, who will provided the necessary equipment and personnel for conducting the eye check-ups. The screening was conducted during school hours as per principal permission.Inner wheel believe that this initiative will be beneficial for the students as it will help identify any vision problems early on\, which can significantly impact their learning and overall well-being. They were confident that this eye screening program will help students who may be struggling with undiagnosed vision problems\, allowing them to receive timely support and improve their academic performance.The entire golden bond team was the part of the program. They were served refreshments after the sampling process. It has been running successfully for the last 40 years. It has experienced staff who work under the most able guidance and support of Past IIWPBD Mrs. Renu Baljee ji. There are two more centres run by our club at Bal Ashram near Kamla Nehru Hospital and at Dhalli\, respective. There are mainly two Diploma courses available at the centres namely Sewing and Beautician.The student strength at all the centres together is around 100 in the sewing course and 80 in beautician course. The students attend classes for a period of 12 months and towards the end take exams in order to acquire the professional Diploma. \n\n\n\nOur vocational centres aim at stimulating employment opportunities among women of various socio-economic levels and different age groups. These centres give admissions to women and girl students from within the vicinity of Shimla as well as far off areas. Thus\, enabling both urban and rural women to strengthen their socio-economic status and climbing the ladder of gender equality. \n\n\n\nThe purpose of the project was to highlight and publicize the courses provided at our vocational centres and to provide information to the general public with the help of Print\, electronic and social media. This Project will help us to increase the admissions at these centres so that our club keeps working towards achieving it’s goal of promoting Women Empowerment and women Entrepreneurship.

Our Club ISO Dr. Anita Sood ji gave a talk to the mothers in our adopted ward. She explained them the benefits of breast feeding. Twenty Trees of Deodar and Thuja were planted. Since\, this was also a follow up Project done by our Club on 5th June\,22 on World Environment Day\, it was found that the Ten Trees planted on the said day are thriving very well and are being looked after. \n\n\n\nIWC Shimla
